The Young Leaders Council (YLC) brings the passion and philanthropic power of young professionals together to transform New York City. The YLC provides robust opportunities to connect community-driven 20- and 30-somethings who’re eager to lead their peers, fundraise and advocate on behalf of low-income New Yorkers.
YLC Members enjoy exclusive benefits depending on membership level. Benefits include but aren’t limited to:

Ways to Get Involved
GENERAL MEMBERSHIP – $100
All YLC members gain access to select professional development and social events and all volunteer opportunities.
PREFERRED MEMBERSHIP – $250
As a preferred member, you get the benefits of general membership, plus you're eligble to apply for a position on one of our YLC Subcommittees including Events + Fundraising, Community Engagement, and Membership + Marketing.
EXECUTIVE MEMBERSHIP – $1,000
Our top-level membership includes complimentary tickets to all YLC social events, joint membership with our Women’s Leadership Council (WLC), and access to all professional development and volunteer opportunities. Executive members are also eligible to apply for a position on the YLC Executive Committee.

New Yorkers checked their well-worn “Lunch & Learn” brown bags at the door and brought their curiosity. At this interactive evening, attendees voiced their United Way of New York City (UWNYC) burning questions and ideas, as the UWNYC team helped answer the infamous question, "What does UWNYC do?"

On December 6, the Young Leaders Council's held their inaugural Impact Series event: Generation #Impact: Building Our Community and Ourselves! The interactive panel discussion explored ways that philanthropy can help to not only better the community around us, but also advance our careers and better our lives.
Yoga & Champagne

The positive energies flowed as we came together to align our minds and bodies all while making an impact for our struggling neighbors. We rolled out our mats and got into warrior pose to help United Way of New York City, through programs like ReadNYC, give families living in high-poverty communities the supports they need to become self-sufficient.

Crisp brews, a mountain of pizza, and bar games were calling at United Way of New York City’s Young Leaders Council’s annual Brews & Books. Attendees joined our fight for literacy while kicking back with an ice-cold beer and a great group of young professionals! The perfect side to a dinner of champions is the impact tickets to Brews & Books are making on the lives of kids living in some of our City’s struggling communities!
