What does it mean to LIVE UNITED?

It starts with understanding there are three basic building blocks we all need for a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job; income that can support a family; and good health. Then realizing that these are beyond the reach of millions of Americans. And finally deciding to become an active part of the solution.

United Way of New York City is targeting the three critical issues of EDUCATION, INCOME and HEALTH.We’re addressing the underlying causes of problems to achieve lasting community-wide change that will improve the lives of all New Yorkers.

Yet we recognize that no single organization can tackle these issues by itself. United Way of New York City is uniquely positioned to bring partners together from all sectors – nonprofit, business, and government – to produce community impact at a much larger and more meaningful scale.

And we look to individuals like you to contribute your unique strengths and skills — whether you GIVE to United Way to invest in solutions that impact communities across the city; ADVOCATE for issues that are important to you; or VOLUNTEER
