ABOUT YOUNG LEADERS COUNCIL

Who we are

The Young Leaders Council is a group of young professional ages 21 – 40 who are focused on transforming New York City communities through our support of and involvement with the work of United Way of New York City.

How we're taking action

We believe in investing in the education of future “young leaders” through preparing them for employment and higher education opportunities after high school.

Through our volunteer efforts, we provide guidance, mentoring and support to at-risk youth to give them a vision for their future. The key is to keep these high school students on track so they can achieve greater life aspirations.

We support United Way's Focus Forward initiative, which provides academic support, youth development, and higher education/career exploration activities during after-school hours at under-resourced schools.

Our activities include:

• Volunteer projects benefiting underserved and disconnected youth
• Networking socials with other young professionals
• Educational and leadership development session with corporate and community leaders
• Special program tours to see our investments in action.

You can become a Young Leaders Council Member with your gift of $500 or more.
