If you'd like to speak with an information and referral specialist, the following helplines can assist you in locating services.


In April 2008 New York City announced the expansion of 311 to include information and referrals for social services provided by nonprofit and community-based organizations in New York City.

  • All calls to 311 are answered by a live operator, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Immediate access to translation services in over 170 languages is available.
  • In any borough of New York City call 311
