Strengthening NYC Nonprofits

Nonprofit Leadership Development Institute

United Way trains tomorrow's leaders and equips nonprofits with tools and systems to improve their performance.

Most nonprofits do not have a professional development or "career track" program and very few have leadership succession plans. Many nonprofits also need trained volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors.

BoardServeNYC

BoardServeNYC builds the capacity of nonprofits in New York City by connecting them to a pool of prospective board members. The candidates represent a cross-section of New Yorkers of varied skills and backgrounds, all of whom are interested in joining boards. Board member candidates are trained in nonprofit governance. Actively preparing nonprofits to recruit, engage, and utilize new board members are integral components of BoardServeNYC. Read more about this program...
