As part of our efforts to strengthen the City's early care and education services, United Way of New York City participates inUnited Way of America's nationwide Success By 6® initiative. In more than 350 communities or states, Success By 6® coalitions are changing the way things work so young children can come to school ready to succeed.
United Way of New York City's Success By 6® programs currently include:
- Quality New York helps childcare centers engage in continuous quality improvement and ultimately achieve national accreditation. Read more...
- KidSmart Early Learning Program, a partnership with IBM Corporation, gives low-income children a jump-start on learning by bringing up-to-date computer equipment and award-winning educational software into publicly-funded preschools. Read more...
- Parent Access IMPACT Project is a neighborhood-based family rsource center that educates parents about the importance of early learning, helps them to navigate New York City's early care and educatoin systems, and coaches and encourages parents in how to be their child's first and best teacher.
